This has been the most wonderful experience in my life, I can't describe it in words. Looking at her serene face, beautiful smile (I haven't successfully captured her smile yet, but yes, she does smile already) and deep eyes I wonder if there is anything else that can even match this experience.
Nidhi (her mom) and Suhaani are both doing fine. First day was very comfortable, we were all very excited and could hardly get any sleep. Suhaani was asleep most of the times. I couldn't stop looking at her, placed comfortably in my arms. By evening we had given the good news to most of our friends and relatives. Our parents and siblings were excited, Nidhi's parents became grand parents for the first time.
Night of 2/23 did not go so well, Suhaani was a little cranky. After trying hard for about 3 hours to pacify her we had to seek nurse's help, luckily we were in hospital that night. As a result we managed to get a couple hours sleep. I am otherwise a very deep sleeper and sleep at a stretch, I said to myself "Well, that won't be possible anymore, at least until Suhaani does not grow big enough to have a regular sleep cycle". But still, after all those crazy moments of trying to calm her when I finally see her quite and happy I say to myself "It is all worth it".
We came home the afternoon of 2/24 and tried to catch up on our lost sleep of two days. Nidhi's mom is with us and she has been a great help throughout, we sure could not have managed everything by ourselves. Here comes the night of 2/24 and Suhaani repeats her act, this time no possibility of seeking help from nurse, which was good in a way as we have to learn to understand her. And yes, we did manage to put her back to sleep after about 3 hours.
It is afternoon of 2/25 while I am writing this blog. Although I did manage to sleep better, it was no way close to sound sleep. So I will try to catch up with my sleep again after uploading some pictures. Nidhi has been sleeping much less compared to me so I can't really complain, but still.
